Abstract:In order to find out the physical principles and short circuit characteristics behind inter-turn short circuits of field winding in multipole non-salient-pole generator,the magnetomotive force and stator no-load electromotive force under normal condition and fault were deduced.And the stator branch circulating current under the fault was also deduced.Through comparative analysis,the relation between the pole pairs and stator no-load electromotive force as well as the relation between the pole pairs and harmonic currents are revealed.Further,the current harmonic characteristics are analyzed with the field winding fault in different degrees of the same position and different positions of the same degree.The relationship among stator branch circulating current,fault position and fault degree was obtained.Last,taking a nuclear power half speed non-salient-pole generator as example,the two conditions have been simulated.The results of simulation and mathematic calculation are consistent,and the correctness of analytic method is verified.The formula provides a theoretical basis for the online location of the field winding inter-turn short circuit fault.
