Abstract:Urban rail transit (URT) has become a major energy consumer in the city, and increasing the utilization rate of train regenerative braking energy has become an important measure to reduce traction energy consumption. Based on the analysis of the influence of contact network impedance on the regenerative braking energy transmission between trains, a new idea of URT regenerative braking energy management and utilization based on bypass DC loop was proposed, also establised a power electronic converter based on the bypass DC loop and the control strategy of its topology,then verified the feasibility and effectiveness using the scenario analysis method. Study results show that the proposed bypass DC loop topology and control strategy are feasible, and it can achieve an effective increase of about 10% in regenerative braking energy utilization. Integration with the ground energy storage system can reduce the frequency and depth of charge and discharge of the energy storage device, extend the life cycle and life of the energy storage device. The research results can provide a reference for the management and utilization of regenerative braking energy in URT.
