Abstract:In order to locate the cascade H-bridge IGBT faults in converter, a precise analytical method based on double Fourier integral is proposed. The output voltage harmonic performance of the H bridge IGBT converter under the normal and open circuit fault scenarios is analyzed. The DC flow as well as the odd and even harmonic phases of H-bridge IGBT inverter under different faults will change, which can be regarded as the features of the IGBT faults. A 6kV STATCOM is built to test the proposed method. The results show that the method can effectively locate the fault components.
