Abstract:Armature reactance of the permanent magnet synchronous motor (PMSM) is deeply related to the steady-state performance specifications and control precision of servo system. This paper investigates the calculation method for armature reactance and the influence of cross saturation on d- and q-axis armature reactance is detailed study based on finite elements method (FEM). The armature reactance is calculated when the cross saturation is ignored firstly. Then the armature reaction magnetic field is calculated in the case of referring to the cross saturation based on the combination the vector method and frozen permeability method subsequently, from which the d- and q-axis armature reactance curves with inner power factor ingle are achieved. So the d- and q-axis current and armature reactance are extracted by iterative loop. Through lots of calculations of armature reactance about surface mounted and interior PMSM the influence law of cross saturation on armature reactance is acquired and the discrepancy reason between the calculation and tested results is analyzed. Through the comparison between the calculated and tested results several useful conclusions are obtained eventually.
