Fault-Tolerant Control for the Bearingless Switched Reluctance Motor with One Levitation Winding Short-Circuited

Abstract:In order to improve the reliability of bearingless switched reluctance motors (BSRMs), the fault-tolerant control of dual-winding BSRM with one levitation winding short-circuited is investigated in this paper. Firstly, according to the mathematical model in the normal mode, the mathematical model of short-circuit current is derived and further fault-tolerant mathematical model is also deduced. The proposed model is verified by the finite element (FE) method. Secondly, the compensation strategy of levitation forces is developed based on the fault-tolerant mathematical model and is verified by the FE analysis and Matlab/Simulink simulation. Finally, experimental results are provided to demonstrate the proposed performance.
