DC Instability and Suppression Strategy of Transformer Based on Exciting-Current Identification

Abstract:In order to further improve the anti-DC disturbance performance of power transformer, the discriminant and suppression strategy is studied aiming at the problem of biasing instability. The DC disturbance state equation is constructed though basic electromagnetic mechanism. The excitation current identification method is studied by using the port electrical information, and the biasing instability criterion is proposed. The electromagnetic characteristics are simulated based on the electromagnetic coupling model in AC/DC hybrid operation. The abnormality of the (quasi) DC disturbance is characterized by excitation current, and its variation rule is summarized. Anomaly discriminating method of DC-bias transformer is analyzed through the applicability of different biasing instability criteria. The DC disturbance experiment platform of 220V three-phase group transformer is used to verify the method’s correctness. The DC disturbance excitation characteristic of 10kV transformer is analyzed and the effectiveness of the method is further explained. Finally, a new DC disturbance suppression strategy is proposed by the DC disturbance abnormal discriminant method. The effectiveness of the suppression strategy is verified by simulation and experimental.
