Abstract:Triggered vacuum switch (TVS) is one of the important switching devices in pulse power technology.With the progress of pulse power system toward a higher working frequency,TVS should have the ability to work stably in a high frequency circuit.In this paper,an LC high frequency oscillation circuit was adopted to investigate on a new laser triggered vacuum switch (LTVS),which includes the frequency of oscillation circuit,gap voltage and initial plasma concentration on the interrupt characteristic of LTVS.The experimental results show that the increase of frequency and gap voltage will result in a higher peak current and rate at current zero-crossing,the probability of interrupt fail or restrike increases and the time interval of restrike decreases when peak current and rate at current zero-crossing increase.The initial plasma concentration has no effect on the probability of interrupt fail or restrike.The experimental results will supply a reference for enhance the ability of LTVS to work stably stable in a high frequency circuit.
