Abstract:The complex fault current characteristics of doubly-fed induction generators (DFIGs) cause that the conventional fault analysis method based on AC synchronous generators is not applicable for the power systems containing DFIGs.According to the low voltage ride through (LVRT) control strategy of the DFIGs,the short-circuit calculation models of the DFIGs are established considering their excitation regulation characteristics for the three-phase fault or the unbalanced fault.Based on this,the sequence networks of the power systems containing DFIGs are proposed using the symmetrical component method.According to the nodal voltage equations,the fault boundary conditions equation,and the short-circuit calculation models of DFIGs,the branch currents and the node voltages are calculated based on an iterative algorithm.The simulation results show that the proposed method has a high accuracy of short-circuit current calculation and can meet the requirements of engineering applications.
