As the element of the magnetic levitation(maglev) guideway, the significance of research on the single degree of freedom(DOF) maglev system is obvious. In order to obtain the high dynamic and static performance, the current loop in the single DOF system requires the characteristics of high dynamic response and high precision. In this paper, based on a model of double electromagnets, the discrete-time predictive current control strategy is proposed, and the time delay problem in the digital control system is solved by an optimal design. To suppress the current ripple, the chopper on the basis of three-level control is structured in the main circuit. Simulation and experimental results are shown to verify the feasibility and effectiveness of the proposed algorithm.
