Nonlinear Control of Three-Phase PWM Rectifier Based on Multi-Sliding Mode Variable Structure Control

Abstract:A multi-sliding mode variable structure control strategy is proposed combined input-output feedback linearization control with sliding mode variable structure control, according to the nonlinear characteristics of three-phase PWM rectifier. Voltage outer loop uses sliding mode variable structure control strategy based on the index reaching law, to ensure output voltage stable and provide a reference current instruction to the current loop. After building two-input and two-output affine nonlinear model of three-phase PWM rectifier, the current inner loop was linearized, and the inner current loop controller was designed by sliding mode control theory. Simulation model in Matlab/Simulink and a 15 kW experimental prototype were built . The results verify the control scheme. The rectifier using the proposed control scheme has such advantages as good system dynamic characteristics, strong robustness, strong anti-jamming ability, etc. At the same time, the drawback that input-output feedback linearization requires precise mathematical model is overcome.
