Abstract:Temporal and spatial distribution of wind energy induces the dispersion of operation status of wind generators, which reduces the operation security of wind turbines. In the paper, a new voltage control strategy is presented, which regulates the reactive power output of wind generators to improve the voltage profile of collector system. The reference reactive power of wind turbines is obtained by non-iterative calculation method, based on the characteristics of the collector system topology. The simulation results show that the proposed control strategy could improve the voltage profile of wind farm and reduce the terminal voltage level diversion of wind generators. The ability of wind generators to withstand the grid voltage disturbance is enhanced and the operation security of wind farm is improved.
