Abstract:A limited angle permanent magnetic motor operating mechanism is proposed and researched in order to improve the operating performance of high voltage circuit breaker. The structure and the parameters of the limited angle permanent magnet motor are designed, which is based on the mechanical characteristics requirement of high voltage circuit breaker. The parameters contain the electric load, magnetic load, pole and so on. The finite element analysis and dynamic simulation is achieved by using the finite element method according to the two kinds of stator structure, which are proposed in the motor design. The simulation results verify the reasonable of motor design and gain the characteristic curves (torque, current, revolution and angle, et al.). The analysis results indicate that the two stator motor design is reasonable and has an excellent performance which can provide sufficient opening or closing speed to meet the requirements of circuit breaker. The closing stroke curve of contact is gained by the testing of motor actuator and circuit breaker. The testing results indicate that the closing operation requirement of circuit breaker is realized by the motor operating mechanism. It can provide a base for the high voltage circuit breaker using the motor operating mechanism.
