Abstract:In order to improve the electrical performance of the inverter and make the output waveform approach sine, a novel inverter device based on the round-shaped transformer is proposed. The inverter can compose 24-step waveform through phase shifting and multiple-phase shifting superimposition principle. The structure and working principle of the inverter device were elaborated. And it is proved with the mathematical theory that the inverter can indeed eliminate most of the harmonics below 23th. The inverter model was built with Ansoft software. The influence of the load type, power factor and the number of three-phase input voltage on the output waveform quality were analyzed by comparing the simulation waveform, spectrum analysis and THD value. The result shows the validity of the inverter device in terms of harmonic elimination. The influence of different air gaps on the magnetic circuit was simulated. Finally, the effectiveness of the inverter in harmonic elimination was verified by experiments.
