Detect Transient Power Disturbance for Power Disturbance Data Analytics

Abstract:A method to detect transient power disturbance is proposed in this paper for power disturbance data analytics. It combines the improved waveform comparison and RMS method as well as detects both voltage and current data to overcome the defects of waveform comparison method for transient power disturbance detection recommended by IEC. Lots of field power disturbance data is used to verify its effectivity and detect both power quality disturbance and non-power quality disturbance. The proposed method partly relieves the conflict between laborious calculation and detection accuracy and it is qualified to detect transient power disturbance for power disturbance data analytics.
