Abstract:With regards to the sulfur corrosion failure inside transformers,experimental samples,consisting of insulating oil with different concentrations of dibenzyl disulfide (DBDS) or dodecyl mercaptan,common insulating paper,and copper sheets,are used to carry out the accelerated thermal aging experiments at 130 ℃,in order to investigate the influence of different sulfur compounds on the thermal aging properties of oil-paper insulation system.During the experimental process,the color changes of the copper surface are recorded and the degree of polymerization (DP) of the insulation paper,the acid content in the paper and the water,the furfural,the acid,and the gas content in the oil are measured at regular intervals of sampling.The results indicate that the higher concentrations of DBDS and dodecyl mercaptan cause the larger fluctuation of the degradation rates of insulating paper,furfural concentration in oil,and the fluctuation ranges of paper-acid and oil-water,and furthermore bring about the more severe corrosion degree of the copper sheets,which is also related to the oxygen content dissolved in oil.In the oil samples adding dodecyl mercaptan,the oil acid rises with the increase of the dodecyl mercaptan concentration.In the oil samples adding DBDS,with the increase of the DBDS concentration,the oil acid also increases at lower oxygen content while first decreases and then increases at higher oxygen content.The different concentrations of DBDS and dodecyl mercaptan inside the oil promote different gas producing properties of the oil-paper insulation system at varying degrees.
