Abstract:To solve the problem of commutation torque ripple in brushless DC motor (BLDCM), current prediction control strategy is proposed.The principle of commutation torque ripple is analyzed firstly.The current prediction control strategy and PWM_ON conduction mode are then adopted.The switching devices of ingoing phase and outgoing phase are both modulated with PWM mode during commutation period.The rising slope of the ingoing phase current and the descending slope of the outgoing phase current are controlled to be equal during the commutation period, which ensures that the current of the non-commutation phase is kept to be constant.Thereby commutation torque ripple is suppressed.Finally an experimental platform was built, experimental results validate the effectiveness of the adopted control strategy, which can significantly reduce the commutation torque ripple within the whole speed range.
