Abstract:A neutral-point balancing method for Z source neutral point clamped (NPC) three-level inverter, based on simplified three-level space vector pulse width modulation (SVPWM), is proposed in this paper by analyzing the neutral-point balancing principle, which facilitates the injection of shoot through signals. The proposed method figures out the optimal solution of the balancing index, and realizes the constant voltage control of Z source output by deriving the relationship of the shoot-through ratio, modulation index and balancing index. It suppresses the fluctuation of neutral point efficiently, realizes the control of Boost voltage of Z source network conveniently, and simplifies the control algorithm. Simulation and experimental results verify the proposed neutral point control algorithm.
