Parameter Calculation and Performance Analysis of Solid Rotor Induction Machines Using 3D Subsectional and Multi-Layer Method

Abstract:When the nonlinearity of solid rotor was taken into account,the magnetic field and eddy current calculation in solid rotor cost large amount of computation with 3D finite element method.This paper puts forward a 3D subsectional and multi-layer method.Amplitude coefficient and saturated coefficient are applied to consider the saturation in stator core.Permeability of each subsection and layer is different,so that the effect of saturation in rotor core can be considered.While calculating the rotor equivalent impedance,both the energy penetrating from the cylindrical and two end surfaces into the rotor are considered.Therefore, the effect of axial finite length of rotor towards magnetic field is also taken into account.The calculation results using the mentioned 3D subsectional and multi-layer method agree with the experimental test results on a model machine.This indicates the method is suitable for the parameter calculation and optimal design of solid-rotor induction machine.
