Nonlinear Dielectric Response Characteristics of Damp Oil-Impregnated Pressboard Insulation and Application of H-W Model in Time-Frequency Conversion

Abstract  In order to improve the low-frequency data acquisition efficiency of frequency-domain dielectric spectrum (FDS) for oil-paper insulation, the measured insulation is usually equivalent to a linear system, and the extended Debye model or Fourier transform is used to convert the time-domain data to low-frequency dielectric spectrum. However, when oil-paper insulation exhibits nonlinearity, the existing time-frequency domain conversion methods will cause large errors. In this paper, the influence of moisture on the nonlinear characteristics of the insulation is studied, and the time-frequency domain conversion effects of the extended Debye model and Fourier transform are verified. The results show that moisture will cause the nonlinear characteristic of oil-paper insulation. The two formal methods cannot be equivalent to non-linear insulation, and the conversion results have errors. Thus, Hammerstein-Wiener equivalent mathematical model is proposed. The results show that the model can well characterize the nonlinear characteristics of the dielectric response of oil-paper insulation, and its time-frequency domain conversion results also have higher precision.
