Abstract:Aiming at the electromagnetic interference (EMI) issue and the associated challenge to high power density design under the trend of high frequency of power electronic converters, a flexible multi-layer foil (FMLF) technique based electromagnetic integration scheme of a structure-symmetrical EMI filter is proposed in this paper. In this scheme, the UU-cores based fully integrated structure of L/N-line-symmetric EMI filter is derived from the basic integrated units of common-mode (CM) capacitor & line-inductor, and differential-mode (DM) capacitor & CM inductor. Moreover, a reasonable terminal-configuration is utilized to realize the function-decoupling of CM and DM filtering components, which can predigest the CM and DM lumped equivalent circuits, there by simplifying the parameters' analysis, calibration and design. Taking a high-frequency SiC-MOSFET voltage source inverter with 500W output power as the experimental platform, the discrete, magnetic integrated and electromagnetic integrated EMI filter prototypes are built for comparative experiments on the premise of using Maxwell software to verify the rationality and feasibility of the proposed scheme. In addition, the results indicate that the proposed electromagnetic integrated approach can effectively reduce the size and weight, and contribute to increasing the system power density under the same design objectives of CM and DM insertion losses.
