Flux Control Strategy of Induction Motor Discrete Variable Frequency

Abstract:One innovative flux control strategy of induction motor discrete variable frequency (DVF) based on space voltage vector was proposed. Firstly, space voltage vector’s influence on induction motor stator flux was analyzed on condition that two of three-phase thyristor circuits were conductive, and the cause of torque shaking was also discovered while the motor was driven by DVF. Then, under the same circuit structure as above, induction motor dynamic model was constructed. In virtue of the model, it was easy to obtain stator flux equations, and it was not difficult to calculate stator flux decrement while three-phase thyristor circuits were all turn-off. Finally, implementation method of the innovative strategy was presented. Study results show that: The reverse space voltage vector is the main cause of induction motor torque shaking drastically; the proposed strategy can eliminate the reverse space voltage vector and the start current of induction motor is decreased by 46% contrasting with the traditional method. The experimental results verified these conclusions.
