A Test Method for Stochastic Distribution System Reconfiguration Using Boundary Analysis and Linear Regression

Abstract:The aim of distribution system reconfiguration is to decrease the loss of distribution system by changing the topology of the system, which can improve the efficiency and the reliability of the network. In recent years, due to the loads varying from time to time and the distributed generation integrating into the distribution system, it has become more and more necessary to know which topology of the network is a good choice in long terms and when to reconfigure the network can achieve good performance. This paper proposed a test method to answer these questions which can evaluate the system and detect abnormal fluctuation in network loss. Based on the boundary analysis, this method gave a simple but very useful technique to evaluate the network loss in a long term. Abnormal gains model and regression model were used to describe the network situation. The availability of the proposed method is demonstrated using IEEE 33-bus radial distribution system.
