Abstract:According to on the analysis of the characteristics of twelve-sequence components, a new fault line selection method based on loop flow component is proposed for the four-parallel transmission lines (FPL) on the same tower. This method firstly establishes the circulating current difference component, depending on the relationship between magnitude and phase of the loop flow components under various lines faults. By analyzing the charging feature that the phase difference between loop flow component and circulating current difference component is 180, the fault line can be identified. A commonly adopted asymmetric parameter model of FPL is also discussed. According to the boundary conditions of different transmission line faults, the phase relationship among the sequence components is deduced. Based on this principle that the phase relationship different when the fault line is different. The new method for identifying the fault line is presented. The new method is not affected by the system impedances. Simulation results of PSCAD/EMTDC verify the proposed fault line selection method.
