Abstract:This paper studies the transient stability calculation of power system integrated with direct-drive wind farm with permanent magnet synchronous generators. Direct-drive permanent magnet synchronous generator(DDPMG) is called the third generation of wind turbine and have a very bright future,yet there is few study of the transient stability calculation of power system integrated with DDPMG-based wind farm. In this paper the transient model of DDPMG is established and the transient stability calculation of power system integrated with large scale wind farm is performed on the software of power system analysis toolbox(PSAT) and solved by multi-step high-order Taylor series method. This paper mainly discusses the transient stability of power system caused by the variations of wind speed and by big disturbance in the network. Changes of power angle, rotating speed and voltage amplitude of the two cases are all showed and discussed. The work of this paper provides reference to further research on the transient stability calculation of power system integrated with DDPMG-based wind farm.
