Abstract:It is difficult to calculate 3-D power frequency electric field around equipments in ultra-high voltage (UHV) substations due to the complex structures. In order to improve the calculation efficiency, a new computational model called line-model which can apply to line structures such as bus and grading ring was proposed. The singular integral formula for line element was deduced and the line-model was introduced into boundary element method (BEM) to deal with complex electrical equipments. As a result, the computational accuracy and speed enhance dramatically. The electric field around reactors in Jingmen UHV substation is calculated and the availability of the method is demonstrated by comparing the simulated and the measured results.
