Abstract:Common-mode voltage has great harm to voltage source inverter (VSI) and motor control system. Hardware circuit or complex PWM modulation algorithm is required in the traditional common-mode voltage suppression methods. Model predictive control based common-mode voltage suppression methods for VSI can overcome these shortcomings. However, the conventional model predictive control based common-mode voltage suppression methods have disadvantages, such as large calculation amount and high switching frequency. Thus, an optimum voltage vector selection based mode predictive common-mode voltage suppression method for VSI is proposed in this paper. Compared to the conventional ones, the proposed method can suppress common-mode voltage while reducing calculation amount and switching frequency. Detailed contrast experiments show that the proposed strategy is more suitable for high power applications due to its low switching frequency characteristic.
