Research on Axial Magnetic Force of Dual-Stator Conical Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor

Abstract:This paper presented a new type of dual-stator conical permanent magnet synchronous motor, and the closed-form expression of the axial magnetic pull force for the dual-stator conical permanent-magnet synchronous machine(DSCPMSM) is derived. The magnetic pull force is decomposed into normotopia component and cone component. 3D finite-element model of the DSCPMSM is built to analyze the magnetic pull force. Besides, the effects of angle of cone, axial length and d-axis and q-axis currents on the magnetic pull force are discussed. At last, the article presented the effective control measures of the axial magnetic force, and provided idea for the optimization design of the motor.
