Abstract:It is important for determining the relative winding axis position between dual stators during designing and installing a dual-stator permanent magnet electrical machine (DSPMEM). In this paper, the analytical expression of winding axis position is deduced, which can express its relation with design parameters. The results from the analytical expression are respectively compared with that from slot conductor EMF star map for integral slot and fractional slot electrical machines. Some electromagnetic performance of different relative winding axis position are computed by finite element method, and the phase EMF of a prototype is tested. The research shows that the results from the analytical expression are consistent with that from slot conductor EMF star map. The experimental results are well agreed with that from finite element analysis, which validates the obtained theoretic conclusions. The winding axis position can be accurately calculated by the analytical expression obtained in this paper.
