Abstract:Based on the requirements of the electric vehicle(EV) driving system, the structural features of the dual-stator permanent magnet brushless DC motors(DSBLDC) are analyzed, and a winding switching method is proposed so that the motor can show high comprehensive efficiency in a wide range of running. Firstly, the structural principle of the DSBLDC is introduced. Secondly, a DSBLDC used in EV is specially designed, and its speed range is expanded by winding switching. Through finite element simulation and prototype experiment, the selection principle of the winding connection modes is determined in different running states. Finally, the winding switching circuit and process are given, and the winding switching method is showed by finite element simulation.
