Abstract:Model experiment was an effective method to investigate the working process of electromagnetic coil launcher(EMCL). Model experiment results were applied to prototype study of EMCL after the scaling factor relations of physical parameters between model and prototype were mastered. Based on mathematical model of EMCL and similarity theory the scaling factor relations of physical parameters between model and prototype in EMCL were deduced. A new type EMCL was designed and its scaling model was researched by simulation. Research results show that the scaling factor relations of physical parameters are expressed as fuctions of the length scale factor. The scaling model is rational.
