Abstract:The model of 3D transient temperature field for a permanent magnet-induction hybrid excitation generator(PM-IHEG) in the state of steady electromagnetic field is established. Some hypothetical conditions and boundary conditions of the solved region are presented. Lots of coefficients of thermal conductivity and surface heat transfer are given. Stator iron losses, windings copper losses, rotor eddy current loss and mechanical losses are calculated according to the electromagnetic field analysis. The temperature field of PM-IHEG is calculated using 3D FEM. The influences of the exciting current, speed and load on the temperature field are also analyzed by means of numerical method. The calculation and practical measurements results are in satisfactory agreement.
