Auction Mechanism for Shared Energy Storage System Portfolios Based on Decoupling Power and Capacity Rights

Abstract  

Customer-side energy storage system helps load aggregators hedge the revenue risk due to demand response deviations. As an innovative application model, shared energy storage system can save the investment capacity of user-side energy storage system and improve the efficiency of energy storage system utilization. A shared energy storage system portfolio auction mechanism for load aggregators is designed to further reduce the cost of shared energy storage system services purchased by improving the efficiency of shared energy storage system equipment utilization. Firstly, a market mechanism is designed to auction shared energy storage system capacity and power rights in the form of "with" bids, and the operation process of each trading entity under this mechanism. Secondly, under the constraints of bidding, a winning bid decision model is constructed with the objective of maximizing social welfare. A pricing mechanism is designed to share social welfare between buyers and sellers, as well as a capital settlement mechanism that combines winning bids and penalties for default, and the benefits of each participant are analyzed. Finally, the effectiveness and superiority of the mechanism is verified through arithmetic examples.
