Abstract  In this paper, the stator inter-turn short-circuit (ITSC) fault in permanent magnet synchronous motor (PMSM) is regarded as the research object. The frequency spectrum feature of fusion vibration signal and stator current signal is used as the basis for the detection of inter-turn short-circuit fault. The acquisition signal is processed and analyzed by combining advanced wavelet packet transform and FFT in LabView, and the detection of this fault is realized. Improved wavelet packet transform can eliminate spectrum aliasing and get accurate fault characteristics. In addition, the experiments on permanent magnet low speed synchronous motor are carried out, the results of which show that the method is effective.
