Abstract The traditional open-loop synchronization methods have good dynamic performance but poor frequency adaptability, and are susceptible to the effects of unbalanced three-phase voltage. Combined with double synchronous coordinate transformation concept, a novel open-loop phase-locked method is presented in this paper. The given angular frequency ω₀ is taken as the rotational angular frequency of coordinate transformation. Three-phase voltage signal is converted through double synchronous coordinates. Then, the positive and negative sequence voltage components are separated by decoupling the network. The difference frequency component is extracted by improving the conventional low pass filter. Finally, grid voltage synchronous tracking is achieved through fundamental positive sequence component extraction network. Compared with several other synchro- nization methods, the results show that the proposed open-loop method has fast response speed, high steady-state precision, and can effectively eliminate the unbalanced and distorted grid conditions.
