Abstract  This paper presents a theoretical model for a wireless ultrasonic power transfer system in the form of equivalent circuits.Resonant characteristics of the piezoelectric transducers are modeled usingconstitutive piezoelectric equations firstly. Then a system-level equivalent circuit model is developed and analyzed to obtain the system output characteristics.Experimental results verify the proposed model and demonstrate that 2.6 W electric power can be transferred across a 5 mm thick aluminum plate to a resistive load using a pair of 28 kHz piezoelectric transducers.
