Abstract:A novel high conversion ratio bidirectional CDT-LC resonant DC-DC converter is proposed in this paper. The new converter not only maintains the good characteristic of LLC for zero voltage switching (ZVS) on the high voltage side (HVS) and zero current switching (ZCS) on the low voltage side, but also harvests a good gain feature. The converter has broadened voltage gain range with high efficiency. Besides, the operating principles and feature analysis of the converter are given for both step-up and step-down modes. Also, a loss breakdown for the proposed converter and a comparison between SiC and Si devices are given. At last, a 2.5kW prototype is established to verify the performance of the CDT-LC converter. The highest efficiency reaches 97%.
