Abstract:Applications of switched reluctance motors (SRM) are limited due to their high torque ripple caused by the doubly salient motor structure. Especially when a SRM works at higher speed, the current tracking and torque ripple suppression performances of the traditional torque sharing function (TSF) control system are quite low, due to the reduction of commutation time. In this paper, a modified method is proposed to solve this problem. Firstly, a SRM with four phase 8/6 poles is selected as the research target. Then, two simulation models based on Matlab/Simulink and an experimental system using TMS320F28335 are built by the exponential TSF and the modified TSF respectively. Both the simulation and the experimental results on designed controller for the SRM validate the effectiveness of torque minimization.
