Abstract:The traditional position sensorless control strategy for interior permanent magnet synchronous motor has a low accuracy in testing the initial position and inaccuracy in determining the magnetic pole, bring in lots of problems, such as failure in starting motor, step out and reversal. Using high-frequency sinusoidal signal injection method to extract position-related information requires several filters, leading to time delay, amplitude distortion and other problems. The initial position detection method based on high-frequency square-wave voltage injection was proposed in this paper and no filter was needed in the process of extracting rotor-related information. By injecting square-wave signals to stator winding, the currents were sampled for three times during the PWM period. The two successively sampled currents were compared to get position error signal so as to obtain the right rotor position. Experiments proved that this method was accurate and effective.
