Abstract:Because of the unsymmetrical arrangement between the two ends of the Consequent-pole Hybrid-excitation (CPHE) generator, the magnetic flux of the entire machine exists in three-dimensional space. Specially, the structure of the magnetic flux have a significant change in the machine with demagnetization fault. Based on the magnetic circuit analysis, Several equivalent Two-Dimensional(2-D) analytical models are sufficient to predict the magnetic flux distribution in the machine. In this paper, An equivalent 2-D analytical model for an improved CPHE generator with demagnetization fault was established to predict the magnetic flux density distribution of the machine. The analytical results are evaluated by comparing with those from the finite element analysis.
