An Universal Multilevel Space Vector Pulse-Width Modulation Algorithm for Single-Phase Cascaded H-Bridge Converter

Abstract:An algorithm of universal multilevel space vector pulse-width modulation (SVPWM) is proposed for single-phase cascaded H-bridge converter, after analyzing the operation principle of single-phase cascaded H-bridge converter. The proposed algorithm has the advantages of low computational complexity, low total harmonic distortion (THD) and strong scalability. It simplifies single-phase multilevel SVPWM to single-phase two-level SVPWM. This paper realizes single-phase seven-level, nine-level and eleven-level SVPWM on a single field programmable gate array (FPGA). Experimental results based on the hardware in the loop system with DSP+FPGA have verified the proposed algorithm.
