Abstract:Excessive power loss of single-phase dry-type air-core reactor would reduce service life of the reactor and influence the operation of the grid. In order to reduce power loss of the reactor, a new design method based on current phase equality is proposed. According to circuit model of the reactor, the design method is demonstrated and the formula for calculating the number of layer turns is derived. The simulation results shows that this method can not only lower power loss of the reactor, but also can make the AC and DC current distributions of each layer consistent as well as the AC and DC temperature distributions of each package consistent.
