Abstract:To study the fault operation performance of a 12-phase synchronous generator system with the rectifier load, a method of identifying on-off condition of diodes in fault state is proposed by considering the uncontrolled rectifier bridge, and a model for a 12-phase synchronous generator-rectifier-load system is established based on the circuit topology theory. The influence of the single-diode-open fault on DC power supply quality is discussed byfault-operation analysis, from which the numerical relation between the DC voltage and the load is obtained. The presented method is verified to be valid by comparing the simulation results with the experiment resultsfor a model machine, which provides theoretic foundation and effective measures for analyzing fault-tolerant feasibility of multi-phase rectifier generators under diode-open fault condition.
