Abstract:A high step-up soft-switching isolated buck/boost converter with voltage multiplier and its control strategy are proposed for low input voltage applications with wide voltage range.With the combination of the voltage doubling type dual-active-bridge (DAB) converter and the voltage multiplier, high output voltage gain can be obtained.Soft-switching of the active switches can be achieved in wide voltage and load ranges by introducing dual-phase-shift modulation.Meanwhile, the zero-current turn-off without reverse recovery losses of the diodes can be realized.The leakage inductance of the transformer is utilized for power transfer and the voltage spike problem is overcome.Furthermore, the voltage stresses on the switches are reduced, i.e.the ones on the primary-side and the secondary-side switches are clamped to the input voltage and half of output voltage respectively.The operation principle, control strategy, and steady-state characteristics are analyzed in detail and verified with experimental results.
