| A Simplified Model Based Inertia Identification Algorithm with Error Compensation of Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motors |

Abstract As an important parameter of the speed control model of permanent magnet synchronous motor, the accuracy of the identification value of the inertia affects the dynamic performance of speed response. It is difficult to identify the value of inertia accurately and in real time, which is used for the setting of the parameters of the speed controller. To solve this problem, an improved model reference identification algorithm of inertia is proposed in this paper. First, the algorithm simplifies the motion model of permanent magnet synchronous motor by ignoring the load torque and using the friction coefficient. Then, the influence of the load torque and the deviation of friction coefficient are analyzed. Therefore, a compensation method is presented utilizing speed and acceleration as feedback determination at different stages of acceleration and deceleration. This simple algorithm, whose convergence and rapidity are verified in simulation and experimental results, is an effective engineering approach of inertia identification of permanent magnet synchronous motor.
