Characteristics Emulation and Optimization Design of Flux Transfer Trip Based on Magnetic Field and Equivalent Reluctance |

Abstract With the three-dimension(3-D) magnetic field and static characteristics of flux transfer trip calculated by the finite elements method, combined transient electric circuit equations of the coil with mechanical movement equations of the iron-core, the dynamic characteristics of flux transfer trip are solved using 4-order Runge-Kutta method. The influences of discharge capacity and turn number of coil on dynamic characteristics are analyzed. Based on 3-D flux distribution the equivalent reluctance of flux transfer trip is obtained by the method of magnetic field division, and then the simultaneous optimization of the dynamic and static characteristics is done using this equivalent reluctance. The results of simulation and optimization are verified by experiments of the prototypes. It is demonstrated that this method has high precision and can synthetically optimize static and dynamic characteristics.
