Measurement and Analysis of Magnetizing Current in DC-Biased Transformers

Abstract:It is the key point for studying the magnetizing current in the transformer under dc-biased magnetization. A laminated core model of product level is presented to model the working state of transformer under dc-biased magnetization and the magnetizing current is investigated based on this core model. An engineering-oriented analysis method is proposed by means of Matlab commercial software for the calculation of the magnetizing current in dc-biased transformers. The method in this design is proved to be an effective and efficient one by comparing the calculated results with the measured ones.
