Abstract：To ensure the torque output capability for interior permanent magnet synchronous motor (IPMSM) operating on high-speed in field weakening region under the limited input DC link voltage, a novel flux-weakening control method in overmodulation region for IPMSM was proposed. The difference between the reference voltage updated by current regulator and the output voltage limited by space vector pulse width modulation (SVPWM) in overmodulation region is used to construct a voltage feedback loop for flux-weakening control, which modifies the stator current phase angle and thus redistributes the d and q axis stator reference current components and finally achieves extending speed operation. With this method, the operation speed range for IPMSM is highly extended and the torque output capability in field-weakening region can be achieved simultaneously. Also, the system has a good dynamic performance, and is simple and easy to implement .The effectiveness of this method is verified by computer simulations and experiments.
