Abstract:Superbuck converter whose input and output currents are continuous belongs to the high-order converter. When the parameters of the circuit are not properly matched, Right Half Plane (RHP) zeros will appear in the small signal model of the converter so that it brings difficulties to the design of the control system. To avoid the existence of RHP zeros in the model, the damping network consisting of the resistor and capacitor is added to the converter so that the stability of the converter can be ensured. The relation between RHP zeros and the parameters of the main circuit without the damping network is analyzed and the constraints of parameter design for avoiding RHP zeros are proposed. Then the converter with the damping network is analyzed and it shows that when the damping is properly designed, RHP zeros can be avoid without considerations of the main circuit parameters so that the control system can be easily designed. The conclusions are verified by the model analysis and the experiment results.
