Abstract:A robust position observer of sensorless interior permanent magnet synchronous motor (IPMSM) adopting high frequency signal injection is proposed for low speed operation. The rotor position error signal is obtained from the magnitude of the induced high frequency current by injecting pulsating high frequency voltage. Both the signal process and the digital filter design are analyzed. On the basis, a robust rotor position observer with improved robustness for load disturbance is proposed. The theory design method of the robust observer was studied considering the dynamic characteristic of the load change. Then pole assignment method is adopted for the feedback gain matrix selection of the observer according to the load disturbance and the expected estimation error. The experimental results demonstrate the feasibility of the sensorless control strategy by an IPMSM vector controlled system.
