Abstract:A novel over-modulation method of matrix converter is proposed for the problem of low voltage transfer ratio of matrix converter. Resultant vector is the weighted superposition of circular race vector and hexagon trace vector and base vector, different orbit vector corresponding to different modulation level. A two-level control is linear modulation level and over-modulation level. The over-modulation level is combined with two over-modulation sections, that is over-modulation section I and over-modulation section II, both of which are implemented by this methods. In this paper, this over-modulation strategy is theoretically analyzed and simulated and experimented. The result of simulation and experiment demonstrates that the voltage transfer ratio is effectually enhanced and it is easier to write program of this over-modulation and it has a modest decrease in the total harmonic distortion (THD).
